About the Art
“Cat Nap” is a collaboration I did with two Sumatran tigers, Thomas and Nisha. It was part of a fundraising event at the Topeka Zoo, called Roar and Pour. Artists are teamed up with zoo animals to create one-of-a-kind art pieces. The artwork is then auctioned off to support the zoo. To create this piece, I had Thomas and Nisha paw paint the background with orange and ochre paint. Then I used markers and a white jell pen to draw a portrait of Thomas on top of their paw prints.
